Foster Aware Of Hart's Advantage

West Brom goalkeeper Ben Foster has revealed that he is aware that Manchester City number one Joe Hart will be the first choice for England national team as well. Foster was one of the names who came close to becoming the replacement for Paul Robinson at international level. However, he has not been in the frame for being the England number one since leaving Manchester United on a permanent basis. Joining West Brom has given him the ability to play regular first-team football, but it has crucially deprived him of top-level experience like playing in the Champions League.

Foster is aware that Hart has the advantage in this regard since Manchester City will be fighting for all four competitions over the course of the season. This has made Hart the undisputed number one as far as England is concerned. He may have suffered from a dip in form earlier in the campaign, but he now seems to be back to his best. As a result, Foster is almost certain to be playing the role as a backup for the England national team at the World Cup 2014. This is a job that he is more than happy to do because he is aware of the quality ahead of him.

"I think Joe Hart should be No 1. God forbid he gets injured - he is a fantastic goalkeeper and we are lucky to have someone like him. I get to see him close up in training and he is brilliant, fantastic. I don't think there are any worries on that front. For me it is going to be a real honour to be involved in a World Cup squad - I have never been involved in a major tournament. If I get the call I am really going to be looking forward to it," said Foster.
